My name is Ian Barroeta. I am 16 years old, born in 2010. I am Spanish and currently live in Villena, Alicante, Spain.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 4 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My grandmother enjoyed playing tennis recreationally, although not competitively.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Ferrero Tennis Academy.
What is your coaching team?
My coaching team includes Fran Martínez, Adrian Expósito, and my fitness coach Pablo Rodenas.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train from Monday to Saturday. My morning sessions run from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, including 2 hours of tennis and 2 hours of fitness. In the afternoon, I train from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with 1.5 hours of fitness and 1.5 hours of tennis. Saturdays include morning sessions only.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strength is my offensive game. My aggressive strokes allow me to control points. I would most like to improve my serve, as I believe it is one of the most important shots in modern tennis.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U16 category and my current national ranking in Spain is No. 120.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest achievements include winning J30 Reus, reaching the semifinals of J60 France, representing Spain in the U16 Winter Cup, winning the Tennis Europe Category 1 Sánchez Casal and Ferrer Tennis Academy tournament in 2024, and finishing that year ranked No. 17 in Tennis Europe.

I have competed in Spain, France, Turkey, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, Germany, Belgium, Serbia, and Denmark.

My dream is to reach the ATP Top 10 and win Wimbledon.

I would love to meet Roger Federer, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Rafael Nadal because they are among the players I admire most.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
