This Editorial Policy explains the principles that guide our publications and our commitment to accuracy, fairness, transparency, and respect for players and their families.

Our Mission

Tennis Papers is an independent international media platform dedicated to junior tennis. Our mission is to give young players greater visibility while providing players, families, coaches, and the wider tennis community with useful and reliable editorial content.

Our editorial approach is built around five objectives:

Promote junior tennis players and give emerging talent international visibility;
Celebrate sporting achievements while recognizing the individual journey behind each player;
Provide reliable information about junior tournaments, rankings, pathways, academies, sponsorship, and player development;
Represent junior tennis internationally by featuring players and tennis communities from countries around the world;
Create lasting editorial content that can accompany players throughout their junior development and future tennis careers.

Tennis Papers aims to cover junior tennis with independence, accuracy, fairness, and respect for young athletes. Editorial decisions, including player features and interviews, are made according to the standards and eligibility criteria set out in this policy.

Editorial Independence

Tennis Papers operates as an independent international junior tennis media platform. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not controlled by players, parents, coaches, academies, federations, sponsors, brands, or commercial partners.

Partnerships and sponsorships do not guarantee editorial coverage, player interviews, favorable treatment, or influence over rankings, articles, recommendations, or other editorial content.

When Tennis Papers publishes sponsored, promotional, or partnership-related content, its commercial nature is clearly identified so that readers can distinguish it from independent editorial content.

Tennis Papers retains full editorial control over the topics it covers, the players and organizations it features, and the content it publishes.

Player Interviews

Interviews are voluntary.

Players are invited to answer a series of questions about their tennis journey, goals, experiences and interests.

Participation is entirely optional.

Players may decline an interview or discontinue participation at any time before publication.

Eligibility for Player Interviews

To maintain a consistent editorial standard, junior players must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered for a Tennis Papers interview:

Age

10+

Players must be at least 10 years old at the time of the interview request.

Playing Level

UTR 4.0+ or WTN 32.0 or Top 100

Players must have a UTR of 4.0 or higher, a Singles WTN of 32.0 or better, or be ranked in the Top 100 of an official national junior ranking.

Meeting these minimum criteria makes a player eligible for consideration but does not guarantee publication. Tennis Papers reviews each interview request individually and retains full editorial discretion over publication.

Editing Policy

To preserve the authenticity of each player’s voice, Tennis Papers applies only light editorial corrections to interview responses.

Editing may include:

grammar and spelling;
punctuation;
readability and sentence structure;
language fluency, particularly when English is not the player’s first language.

Tennis Papers does not intentionally alter the meaning or substance of a player’s answers. In particular, we do not change or invent:

personal opinions or experiences;
achievements, rankings, or tournament results;
the names of coaches, clubs, or academies;
other factual information provided by the player or their family.

Our objective is to present each player’s story as faithfully as possible while ensuring clear, readable, and professional English.

Accuracy of Information

Tennis Papers strives to publish accurate and reliable information across all editorial content.

Player interviews and profiles are primarily based on information provided directly by players, parents or legal guardians, coaches, and academies.

When appropriate, factual information such as rankings, tournament results, and competitive records may be checked against official tennis organizations, tournament records, and other reliable public sources.

Because player information, rankings, and results can change over time, Tennis Papers cannot guarantee that every published detail will remain current after publication.

If an error or outdated information is identified, players and families are encouraged to contact Tennis Papers so that it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, corrected.

Respect for Young Athletes

The well-being, dignity, and privacy of young athletes are among Tennis Papers’ highest priorities.

We aim to create positive, respectful, and age-appropriate editorial content that celebrates junior players and their achievements without placing unnecessary pressure on them.

Tennis Papers does not publish content intended to ridicule, embarrass, exploit, or harm young players, and we avoid unnecessarily sensitive or intrusive personal information.

When featuring minors, Tennis Papers applies specific parental consent and privacy requirements designed to protect young players while allowing them to share their tennis journey.

Parental Involvement

Parents and legal guardians play an important role in supporting and protecting young athletes featured on Tennis Papers.

For players under 18, Tennis Papers may require parental or legal guardian consent before an interview or player profile is published, depending on the player’s age and the applicable consent requirements.

When consent is required, publication will only proceed once the necessary confirmation has been received.

Parents and legal guardians are welcome to contact Tennis Papers regarding an interview, consent, privacy concerns, or published information relating to their child.

Photos

Photos published on Tennis Papers are primarily provided voluntarily by players, parents or legal guardians, coaches, academies, or other authorized representatives.

Where images originate from third-party sources, Tennis Papers seeks to use them only when appropriate permission, authorization, or usage rights are available.

Images are selected and used solely to illustrate editorial content relating to the player’s tennis career and are not intended to misrepresent the player or the context in which the photograph was taken.

If a player, parent, legal guardian, photographer, or rights holder has a concern regarding an image published on Tennis Papers, they are encouraged to contact us so that the matter can be reviewed promptly.

Corrections and Updates

Junior tennis evolves rapidly. Rankings, results, coaches, clubs, academies, and other career information may change over time.

Tennis Papers welcomes requests to correct inaccurate factual information published in player interviews and profiles.

Profile Update Eligibility

Profile updates are available only for players with an active ITF Junior profile and may be requested once per calendar year.

Eligible updates may include new rankings, significant tournament results, changes of coach, club or academy, and other relevant developments in the player’s tennis career.

Players and families may contact Tennis Papers to request an eligible profile update. Corrections of factual errors, privacy requests, and removal requests are not subject to the annual update limit.

Removal Requests

Players, parents, and legal guardians may request the removal of content relating to a player from Tennis Papers.

Requests may concern:

removal or replacement of photographs;
removal of an interview;
removal of a player profile;
other personal content associated with the player.

Removal requests are reviewed individually and handled as promptly as possible, with particular attention to requests involving minors, privacy, or personal safety.

Players, parents, or legal guardians may contact Tennis Papers at any time to submit a removal request.

Fair Representation

Tennis Papers aims to provide broad and diverse representation of junior tennis worldwide, featuring players from different countries, cultures, age groups, genders, and competitive environments.

Editorial coverage is not limited to the most highly ranked players. Tennis Papers seeks to highlight junior tennis across different stages of development while maintaining the editorial eligibility criteria defined in this policy.

Selection for an interview is based on the published eligibility criteria and editorial considerations, not on nationality, gender, academy affiliation, sponsorship status, or commercial relationships.

Artificial Intelligence

Tennis Papers uses artificial intelligence and other digital tools to support parts of its editorial workflow, including language editing, formatting, research assistance, SEO optimization, and the creation of editorial illustrations.

AI may assist with the preparation and presentation of content, but it does not replace editorial judgment. Player interviews are based on responses provided by the players or their authorized representatives and are never fabricated by AI.

Tennis Papers does not knowingly use AI to invent player achievements, rankings, tournament results, quotations, or personal experiences.

AI-generated or AI-assisted illustrations may be used to visually support editorial content. Such images are intended as illustrative material and should not be interpreted as documentary photographs of actual events.

Final editorial responsibility for all content published on Tennis Papers remains with Tennis Papers.

Transparency

Tennis Papers is committed to transparency and open communication with players, families, coaches, academies, federations, partners, and readers.

We aim to clearly distinguish between independent editorial content, sponsored content, partnerships, and AI-assisted editorial processes.

Questions, feedback, correction requests, privacy concerns, and other editorial inquiries are always welcome and may be submitted directly to Tennis Papers.
