About Tennis Academy Progetto Italia
Tennis Academy Progetto Italia is part of the broader educational and sports project presented through Progetto Italia Formazione. The tennis department is designed for young athletes who want to combine competitive tennis with serious academic development in a structured environment.
The project is directed by Dr. Carlo Marone, who holds a degree in Sociology and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropological Sciences. He is also a FITP and Professional PTR instructor.
He is assisted by nationally and internationally qualified coaches who also hold academic qualifications, reinforcing the academy’s emphasis on both sporting performance and educational progress.
Tennis Program and Competitive Level
The academy works with both Italian and international players competing at national and international level. Its athletes participate in ITF junior and ITF senior tournaments, and several players have reached or previously held ITF and WTA rankings.
This competitive environment makes the program suitable for ambitious players seeking long-term development in both junior and higher-level tennis pathways.
Academics and Long-Term Development
A key part of the academy’s identity is its academic dimension. Beyond tennis level, the project values a strong educational background and encourages players to continue in degree programs or highly specialized courses.
This dual pathway reflects a long-term vision in which athletes are supported not only as competitors, but also as students preparing for their future.
Tennis Pro Opportunity
An important part of the project is its Tennis Pro Opportunity initiative, which highlights access, support, and development opportunities for motivated players. This dimension gives the program a broader identity than a traditional academy model.
Through this initiative, the project presents itself as a pathway for players who want to pursue high-level tennis while continuing their education in a structured environment in Italy.
Scholarships and Opportunities for Players
The academy offers scholarships ranging from 20% coverage of expenses to full coverage, depending on the evaluation of the technical and educational staff.
This scholarship dimension is central to the project’s identity. It creates opportunities for motivated players, including those who may need financial support to access a serious training and academic environment.
For families and players looking for a program that combines tennis, education, and concrete support, this is one of the most distinctive aspects of Tennis Academy Progetto Italia.
Selection Process
Selections for entry into the program are held every summer. In addition to ranking level when applicable, the academy evaluates each candidate’s academic record and willingness to follow a serious educational pathway.
This approach highlights the academy’s intention to build a balanced, committed, and development-focused player group.
Training Environment and Accommodation
The training centers are located in the province of Alessandria. For girls, accommodation can be arranged in small affiliated hotels or with host families, depending on age.
These accommodations are located in a mountain environment, and transportation is organized by the academy and supervised by both technical and educational staff.

Why This Program Stands Out
What makes Tennis Academy Progetto Italia especially interesting is the combination of several strong pillars: competitive tennis, academic continuity, scholarship opportunities, supervised organization, and a development model open to both Italian and international players.
Rather than functioning only as a tennis academy, the project presents a more complete pathway built around performance, education, and real opportunities for selected athletes.
Players to Watch
Tennis Papers may also feature selected players from Tennis Academy Progetto Italia, especially competitive juniors and players with ITF rankings, in order to highlight both the academy’s philosophy and the individual journeys of its athletes.
