Introduce yourself: Name, Age, Date of birth, Nationality, City of residence
My name is Amajla Kadric. I am 13 years old, born on April 26, 2013. I am Bosnian, and I live and train in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Bosnian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started training tennis when I was 4 years old. I practically grew up on the tennis court.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, I come from a deeply rooted sports and tennis family. My father was a tennis player, and my mother was also an athlete. My younger sister, who is 10 years old, also trains tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Tennis Club Bosna (TK Bosna) in Sarajevo.
What is your coaching team?
My head coach is my father, Zlatan Kadriฤ‡, who has guided my development since day one. Alongside the support from TK Bosna, I also have the opportunity to train with and receive advice from Grand Slam champion Ivan Dodig. I also work on fitness training with Haris Korman from H.K. Performance.
What is your weekly training routine?
My routine includes daily on-court tennis practice, five to six days a week, focused on tactical and technical development, combined with fitness training.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength and biggest weapon on court is my forehand. I am also characterized by baseline consistency, excellent court movement, and a fierce fighting spirit. Together with my dad, I work every day on all parts of my game and the small details needed to keep improving.
What is your age category and national ranking?
My main age category is U14, but I also regularly compete in U16 tournaments. I play both Tennis Europe events and domestic tournaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My most recent and greatest success was becoming U14 National Champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in both singles and doubles in May. I was also ranked No. 1 on the Ten-Pro Global Junior Tour at the age of 10, earned invitations to train at the Rafa Nadal Academy and Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy, became vice-champion in Porto San Giorgio, won a Tennis Europe tournament in Prijedor, and have been a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team since I was 11 years old.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have competed in many countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Georgia, Albania, Romania, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
Do you have any sponsors?
Yes, my official sponsors supporting me with gear and resources are Wilson Tennis and Bosna S.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal this year is to continue achieving success in European U14 and U16 tournaments and to give my maximum when playing for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
What is your tennis dream?
My ultimate dream is to become a professional WTA player, break into the Top 10, and win a Grand Slam tournament.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I deeply admire Novak Djokovic and have already had the incredible honor of meeting him in person. Through joint training sessions, I also regularly learn and receive advice from Ivan Dodig. The player I would love to meet most right now is Aryna Sabalenka because I am fascinated by her power, intense energy on court, and mental focus in crucial moments.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending quality time with my sports-focused family, hanging out with my friends, studying, and enjoying normal teenage activities in Sarajevo.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I dedicate this interview to my family, especially my dad and coach, my mom, and my younger sister, who live this intense sports journey with me every day, as well as the entire support team at TK Bosna and Ivan Dodigโ€™s team.
