What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Alena Sinitsyna. I was born on September 20, 2016. I am Russian and I live in Moscow. My family moved from Voronezh to Moscow because of my tennis.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Russian and I am learning English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was five. My love for tennis began even earlier, when I used to pick up balls while my older sister was training.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my older sister played tennis. She was the reason I first came to a tennis court.
In which tennis academy do you train?
I train at the Moscow Tennis Academy.
Who is your coach?
My coach is Eduard Safonov. I am very grateful to him for helping me improve and become a stronger player.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my fighting spirit. I never want to give up and always try to fight for every point. I still need to improve all parts of my game and become stronger physically and mentally.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U10 category and I am currently in the Top 20 in Russia in my age group.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I have won tournaments in Voronezh and Istra and have also finished second and third at other tournaments. I am especially proud to be in the Top 20 in Russia.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have played tournaments in Russia. My next dream is to start competing internationally.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I play with a Babolat racket and wear 7/6. I am not sponsored at the moment, but I would love to represent a tennis brand in the future.
What is your next goal?
My goal is to keep improving, move higher in the Russian ranking, and start playing international tournaments.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player, play at Grand Slam tournaments, and one day win one.
Who are your favorite players and why?
My favorite players are Anastasia Myskina and Karen Khachanov. I know them personally, and they are very kind, friendly, and supportive. I also really like Jannik Sinner because I love his game, focus, and fighting spirit.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, but tennis is definitely my favorite thing.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my family, my coach, and my sister. My family moved from Voronezh to Moscow for my tennis.
