What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Yusuf Syed. I was born on March 29, 2009. I am Swedish and British, and I am currently living in London, United Kingdom.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Swedish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was five years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my dad used to play tennis at a national level.
In which tennis club do you train?
At the moment, I am not training at any club because I have just moved to the UK. My former club in Dubai was 365 Open Sports.
Who is your coach?
My coach is Leo Alonso.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strengths are my mentality and competitiveness. I am always looking to improve my consistency.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the U18 category, and I am ranked No. 2 in the UAE.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far include becoming U14 Swedish regional champion and UAE U16 champion.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Sweden, England, Bahrain, and the UAE.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use a Yonex Ezone racket with Yonex Poly Tour Pro strings, K-Swiss shoes, and a mix of clothing brands. I’m not sponsored yet.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to play Division I college tennis.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become World No. 1.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Jannik Sinner because of his unbelievable ball striking.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy hanging out with friends.
