What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Tushig Altangerel. I was born on October 17, 2012. I am from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Mongolian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was seven years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my little brother and my father also play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Nomads Tennis Club.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Bayrtsogt Duurenbayr and Batjargal Janchiv.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength as a player is my physical condition, and I think I need to improve my mentality.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U14 category and I am ranked No. 1 nationally with 2,275 points, currently the highest ranking in all of Mongolia.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far include winning the national championships three times.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in the United States, Bahrain, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use a Head Speed Legend 2024 racket. I do not have any sponsors yet.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to win an ITF J60 title.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to win a Grand Slam title, like Roland-Garros.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite tennis player is Novak Djokovic because I really like his legacy and how he is still playing at such a high level as he approaches 40.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I like doing MMA and playing football.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my future self after I win my first Grand Slam.
