My name is Tiziano Gomez. I am 17 years old, born on February 1, 2009. I am Argentine and I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 5 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my brother also plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Club Banade in Martínez, Argentina.
What is your coaching team?
My tennis coaches are Sebastián Distefano, Fernando Ordóñez, and Agustín Sarno. My physical trainers are Aníbal Mensi and Martiniano Vera. I also work with sports psychologist Ariel Zylbersztejn, massage therapist Judith Martinez, and physiotherapist Matías Ponce.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train every morning with one hour of gym work and one and a half hours of tennis. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I also train in the afternoon with one hour of physical preparation and one and a half hours of tennis. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I focus on school, English lessons, stretching, and recovery.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my aggressive playing style, fighting spirit, and the passion I bring to every match. There is always room for improvement, and I continue working on the tactical and mental aspects of my game to become a more complete player.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the U18 category and on the ITF Junior Tour. I am currently ranked No. 7 nationally in Argentina.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Some of my best achievements include finishing No. 1 in my region and No. 5 nationally in the U14 category, winning both regional U18 championships, reaching two ITF J30 doubles finals, two ITF J100 doubles semifinals, and an ITF J60 singles quarterfinal.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Bolivia.
Do you have any sponsors?
Yes. I am sponsored by Dunlop, which provides me with racquets, bags, clothing, and accessories.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goals are to become the No. 1 player in Argentina, win a national championship to earn a wildcard into a Futures tournament, and continue improving my ITF Junior ranking.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and make a living from the sport.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz. I admire Federer for his humility and everything he achieved in tennis. I also identify with Alcaraz’s playing style, fighting spirit, and aggressive game.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy fishing with my father and friends, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I dedicate this interview to my family, especially my grandfather, because he was the reason our family started playing tennis.
