What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Shafiishuna Shimali. I am 13 years old and I was born in May 2013. I am Namibian and I live in Windhoek, Namibia.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Oshiwambo.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of six.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the only tennis player in my family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Central Tennis Club in Windhoek.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Coach Micky Alemu and Coach Jeff Coetzee.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strengths are my forehand, fighting spirit, and aggressive baseline game. I would like to improve my serve and my consistency under pressure.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under-14 age category, and I am ranked No. 2 in Namibia.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far include winning a Masters tournament in Namibia and winning all the doubles titles I have played.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa, and Botswana.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I do not have a sponsor yet. I currently use a Wilson Blade V9 racket with Wilson strings. I wear different clothing brands, including Maxed, and I currently use Nike Vapor Pro Lite 2 shoes. I also have a Wilson Tour Pro bag, and my uncle from the USA is sending me a Head Tour bag and some Head rackets because I like Head.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to win all four Grand Slam tournaments.
Who is your favorite player?
My favorite tennis player is Rafael Nadal.
