What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Samira Murat. I was born on September 2, 2013. I am Kazakh and I live in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Russian, Kazakh, and a little English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of five.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my mom is a former tennis player, and my little sister plays tennis too.
In which tennis club do you train?
We have only one tennis center in Shymkent, and that is where I train.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Sergey Alekseyevich Ignatov and Yerzhan Seytkhanovich Yesenbekov.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My backhand is my strong suit, but I need to work on my serve.
What is your age category and national ranking?
My age category is Under 14, and my ranking is No. 149.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my achievements is that I train with my city’s representative team.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only played tournaments in Kazakhstan.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
For clothing, I mostly wear Nike. I currently play with Yonex rackets and use a Yonex bag, but I do not have any sponsorship contracts.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to win an international tournament.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to win Roland-Garros and become World No. 1.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite tennis player is Elena Rybakina. I like her because of how calm and steady she is.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Besides tennis, I love cooking.
