What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Raluca Georgiana Măniță. I was born on April 6, 2011. I am a Romanian tennis player and I live in Curtea de Argeș, Romania.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Romanian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was six years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my elder sister and brother also play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at AS Tenis Club Curtea de Argeș.
Who are your coaches?
I am not trained by an official coach, but I train with my sister (Ilinca Ștefania Manita) and my brother (Ioan Alexandru Manita), who also give me advice. During matches, my father(Fănel Manita), and my brother help me with coaching. My mother (Ana Aurora Manita), is more involved in the mental and nutritional aspects, as well as tournament management.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my ability to adapt to different playing styles. I am working on improving my emotional control and patience during long matches.
What is your age category and national ranking?
My age category is U16, and my national ranking is No. 171. Before my injury last summer, I was ranked No. 22 nationally in the U14 category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My biggest successes so far include being selected for the U13 national team, reaching the quarterfinals in Tennis Europe U14 competitions, reaching the doubles semifinals in Tennis Europe U16, and winning several Romanian Tennis Federation tournaments.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only played competitions in Romania.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use Yonex Ezone rackets, Adidas shoes, and Nike, Lacoste, and Adidas clothing. I am not sponsored by any of these brands.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to get back into the national Top 20, win ITF Junior Tour tournaments, and be able to compete in WTA 15K tournaments and start winning main-draw matches.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to play in all four Grand Slam tournaments and win at least one, making my family proud. I also wish to be known for my ambition and determination on court and to inspire young athletes to follow their dreams.
Who are your favorite tennis players?
My favorite tennis players are Elena Rybakina, Alexander Zverev, and Carlos Alcaraz.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I like going for walks with friends or siblings, watching movies, reading, and playing chess with my father.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I dedicate my success to my family, who have supported me throughout this journey and always encouraged me. I am also grateful to everyone who has been there for me and believed in me.
