What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Meyra Karan. I was born on August 9, 2013.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Swedish, Turkish, and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I was eight years old when I started playing tennis.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
I am the only one in my family who plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I play for Tumba Tennisklubb.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Miguel Ocampo and Alexej Vergara.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength as a player is my determination and fighting spirit. I never give up, even when a match gets difficult. I always believe I can improve and find a way to fight back. I need to improve my explosiveness, footwork, and speed, especially my first step and split step. I also want to become more consistent and confident under pressure.
What is your age category?
My age category is U14.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest successes so far is having the opportunity to play tournaments in other countries and gain international experience.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Sweden, Turkey, and France.
What equipment brands do you currently use?
I use Babolat Aero rackets and bag. I use Yonex Poly Tour Pro strings, and my tennis clothes are Nike.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to keep improving every day, become a stronger and more complete player, and compete at a higher international level.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and play on the biggest stages in the world. One of my biggest dreams is to play at Roland-Garros in France. I want to keep working hard, never stop learning, and see how far my passion for tennis can take me.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Carlos Alcaraz because he is super fast, has a great mentality, and is an amazing player. I really admire the way he fights for every point.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I really enjoy being with my family and tennis friends.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my family, especially my parents, who always support me, believe in me, and help me chase my dreams.
