What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Isabel Ketting. I am 13 years old and I was born in December 2012. I am Dutch and I live in The Hague, Netherlands.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Dutch, English, and Mandarin Chinese.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was seven years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my brother Marcus, dad, grandparents, uncles, and cousin all play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I currently train at JS Tennis & Coaching and Tennis Club Thor de Bataaf.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are trainers from JS Tennis & Coaching.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strengths are my groundstrokes and my mental strength on court, while I am currently working on improving my serve and volleys.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U14 age category, and my current national ranking is No. 78.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my best achievements was finishing as runner-up at the 2024 TennisDirect Jeugd Masters Zuid-Holland in ME Groen 1. I also reached the semifinals of the 2025 PassaTennis Jeugd Masters Zuid-Holland in ME 11-14, the semifinals of the 2026 PJK Zuid-Holland in ME 13-14, and the semifinals of four Junior Tour Brons tournaments.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in both the Netherlands and Taiwan.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not yet, but I am always open to partnering with sponsors who believe in my journey and want to grow with me.
What is your next goal?
My goal this year is to win a national junior tournament.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to keep playing with joy and passion.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Emma Raducanu. I really admire the way she moves around the court and how well she uses her legs. I hope to meet her in person one day.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Besides tennis, I enjoy playing the piano, drawing, reading, shopping, and traveling.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my dad because he is the one who introduced me to tennis and inspired me to play.
