My name is Hirotaka Arishima. I am 17 years old and I was born on January 21, 2009. I am Japanese and I live in Yokohama, Japan.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Japanese and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 10 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, there are no other tennis players in my family.
In which tennis academy do you train?
I train at Yokohama Tennis International and Clearwater Tennis Academy.
What is your coaching team?
My head coach in Japan is Bosko Tesic, and my head coach in the United States is Partha Bhattacharya.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train five to six times a week, with around three hours on court and one hour of fitness training.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my serve and forehand. I need to improve my stability and stay lower when I hit the ball. My body tends to move up during my shots, which can lead to errors.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the U18 category. I do not currently have a national ranking, but I have played several ITF main draws and will start competing in UTR events.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
55-2 Japan international school league record. Current rank 1st in all international school in Japan.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Japan, Fiji, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, and the United States.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to compete at a high level in the United States and continue improving my game.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to compete in NCAA tennis and play in Grand Slam tournaments.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Tommy Paul because I love his tennis style, and I feel that it is similar to mine.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and playing the piano.

I want to thank my parents and coaches for supporting me through difficult times. Without them, I do not know what I would be doing right now.
