My name is Emilija Jovanovic. I am 13 years old and I was born on April 8, 2013. I am Dutch and I live in Breda, the Netherlands.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Serbian, Dutch, and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was seven years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my mother.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Gym Sportcentrum in Schoten, Belgium, and with the Dutch national selection at the National Tennis Centre in Amstelveen.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Nancy Feber, Ann Devries, and Raf van Os, who is my physical coach.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I prefer not to reveal that because of my future opponents.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I play in my first year of U14, and I am ranked No. 2 among players born in 2013 in the Netherlands.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far are winning the Amjoy Cup and Ridderkerk, both Tennis Europe U14 Category 2 tournaments, and becoming U12 national champion in the Netherlands in 2025.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal including the Azores, Ireland, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.
Do you have any sponsors?
I do not have a sponsor, but Asics supports me in my journey.
What is your goal for 2026?
My next goal is to reach the Top 50 in Tennis Europe and win another Tennis Europe tournament.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become World No. 1 and win the Golden Slam.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Aryna Sabalenka because I love the way she plays, and I really enjoy watching her matches.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
When I am not playing tennis, I love listening to music, baking, and playing games on my phone or with the people around me.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my mother and grandmother, who bring me everywhere, and to my coaches, who help me on my journey.
