My name is Catia Makhno. I am 11 years old and I was born on March 12, 2015. I am Portuguese and I live in Albufeira, Portugal.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Portuguese and Russian.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was four years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my father plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Centro de Ténis e Padel Faro.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are my father — Roman Makhno — and André Nunes from the Faro club.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my forehand, and I would like to improve my footwork.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under-12 category. As of August 14, 2026, I am ranked No. 42 in the Portuguese national ranking.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes include finishing as finalist in girls’ doubles at the AT Algarve U12 Regional Individual Championship in May 2026 and winning girls’ doubles at the 32nd Torneio Juvenil Babolat in Faro in August 2026.
