My name is Clemence Simon Sauty. I am 13 years old, born on January 28, 2013. I am French and I live in Montluçon, near Clermont-Ferrand, France.
What languages do you speak?
I speak a little English and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 8.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No one in my family plays tennis. My mother used to play volleyball.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Ilets Sport Montluçon and TC Domérat.
What is your coaching team?
My tennis coaches are David Barre and Théo Renaudet, and my physical trainer is Yannick Balbon.
What is your weekly training routine?
Each week, I do 6 hours of individual tennis lessons, 4.5 hours of group training, 1.5 hours of badminton on Mondays, and 1.5 hours of physical preparation.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my serve and forehand. I need to improve my backhand to become more consistent, as well as my explosiveness and movement. I am very tall for my age, 1.76 m, so I work a lot on my footwork.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the 13/14 age category and my current French ranking is 15/1.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My biggest achievements include winning the National Tennis Cup in Cap d’Agde in the 13/14 category and winning a TMC in Tours, where I made two strong performances in one day against 15/1 and 5/6 players.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have played tournaments in France, and I will start competing on the Tennis Europe circuit in September.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not yet, but I would really like to have sponsors in the future.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to improve in every area, become more explosive on court, keep enjoying tennis, and reach a 4/6 ranking by the end of the year.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream in tennis is to win major tournaments and become national No. 1.
Which players would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Aryna Sabalenka because I find her game very interesting. She is an attacking player like me, and I love watching her. I would also like to meet Carlos Alcaraz because what he has achieved at such a young age is incredible, and his game is exciting to watch.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy playing padel and badminton, reading, and spending time with my family.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents, who are always there for me and help me pursue my dream, and to my coaches, who have supported me from the beginning and helped me become the player I am today.
