My name is Christiyan Nikolov. I am 12 years old and I was born on April 16, 2014. I hold both Canadian and Bulgarian nationality and I live in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
What languages do you speak?
I speak French, English, and Bulgarian.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 3.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes. My father plays tennis a little, although soccer is his favorite sport.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Carrefour Multisport in Laval, Quebec.
What is your coaching team?
My main coach is my father, Hristo Nikolov. At my tennis club, I also train under the supervision of coaches Sebastian Scutaru, Simon Gallant, and Alex Mottard.
What is your weekly training routine?
I spend around 10 to 12 hours per week on tennis, including training sessions, fitness work, and matches.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My serve is one of my biggest weapons. I would like to improve my footwork and my mental game.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the U12 category, where I am currently ranked No. 5 in Canada and No. 3 in Quebec. I have also started competing in U14 events with encouraging results.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My achievements include finishing runner-up at the Little Mo U10 tournament in New Jersey in 2024, runner-up at the 2026 Quebec Provincial Championships, and finishing 8th at the Canadian U12 Championships in Calgary. I have also won two U14 tournaments this year as well as several U12 events.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Canada, the United States, and Bulgaria.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to reach the Top 3 in Canada, become No. 1 in Quebec, and hopefully start competing in international tournaments.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a great champion, reach World No. 1, and win multiple Grand Slam titles.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would most like to meet Grigor Dimitrov because he is my tennis idol.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy playing soccer with friends, cycling with my family, and traveling.
