My name is Maria Borodacheva. I am 16 years old and was born on November 17, 2009. I am Russian and I live in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Russian.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 5.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No one in my family played tennis professionally except me.
In which tennis club and academy do you train?
I train at Hasanskii Tennis Club in Saint Petersburg and currently work with the J-PRO Tennis Academy.
What is your coaching team?
I currently train with the coaching staff of J-PRO Tennis Academy in Saint Petersburg.
What is your weekly training routine?
I usually wake up at 7 a.m. and start my day with lessons from a tutor. After that, I have tennis and fitness training sessions, then attend school, and finish the day with another tennis practice in the evening.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I believe my greatest strengths are my forehand and backhand. I would like to improve my drive volleys.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U19 category and I am currently ranked No. 290 nationally in Russia.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes are my many victories in national tournaments.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played ITF tournaments in China, Bahrain, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
Do you have any sponsors?
No, I do not currently have any sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to win an ITF tournament and at least one national tournament.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and play college tennis in the United States.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would really like to meet Aryna Sabalenka because she is my tennis idol.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy drawing, spending time with my friends, and being with my family.
