🎙️ Aneta Ivankova | Interview, August 2026

Introduce yourself: Name, Age, Date of Birth, Nationality, City of Residence
My name is Aneta Ivánková. I am 11 years old and I was born on May 5, 2015. I am Czech and I live in Prague, Czechia.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Czech and Russian fluently, and I am currently learning English because I want to compete internationally and communicate with players from all over the world.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was five years old. From my very first lesson, I fell in love with the sport. My training was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but I stayed active at home and worked hard to catch up when tennis resumed.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my dad plays tennis recreationally and sometimes gives me useful advice. My biggest supporter is my mum, who travels with me to tournaments, helps organise my training, encourages me every day, and looks for new opportunities to help me improve.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at ČLTK Praha Štvanice, one of the oldest and most respected tennis clubs in the Czech Republic. I am very proud to represent a club where players such as Markéta Vondroušová and Karolína Muchová have trained.
What is your coaching team?
I mainly train with the coaching team at ČLTK Praha. I also enjoy practising with different coaches and sparring partners because I believe every coach has something valuable to teach me. Training with older players and boys also helps me improve faster.
What is your weekly training routine?
This answer was not specified.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strengths are my game intelligence, tactical thinking, short-angle shots, and serve. I enjoy finding different ways to win points instead of always playing the same style. I am currently working on my speed, explosiveness, movement, and physical strength.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Girls 2015 age category, and I am currently ranked No. 7 in the Czech Republic. I am also part of the Czech Tennis Association Talent Development Programme.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I have won and finished on the podium at several Czech national Category B and Category C tournaments. I have also started gaining experience at international tournaments while competing as one of the younger players in my age group. I am especially proud of how much I have improved over the last few years.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have mainly competed in the Czech Republic, and I have recently started playing international tournaments. I hope to compete in many more countries in the coming years.
Do you have any sponsors?
At the moment, I do not have any official sponsors. For the past several years, I have played with Yonex rackets and worn Yonex shoes because they feel comfortable and give me confidence on court. I would love to build a long-term partnership with a company that believes in young athletes.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to continue improving every aspect of my game, compete in more international tournaments, gain experience against stronger players, and continue moving higher in the Czech rankings.
What is your tennis dream?
My biggest dream is to play at Wimbledon one day and hopefully win the tournament. I would also love to study at an American university and combine a high-quality education with top-level tennis.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I admire Markéta Vondroušová and Karolína Muchová because they are creative players and both trained at my club, ČLTK Praha. I also admire Aryna Sabalenka for her determination, work ethic, fighting spirit, and positive attitude. I enjoy watching Nick Kyrgios for his creativity, and I also admire Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, travelling, discovering new places, watching professional tennis, and meeting people from different countries. At home, I also have a Maltipoo dog named Sonya.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my mum and dad. My mum has supported my tennis journey from the very beginning, and my dad also supports me and shares his love of tennis with me. I would also like to thank all my coaches and everyone at ČLTK Praha.
