Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Alejandro Josue Jaramillo Raza. I am 10 years old. I was born on September 26, 2015. I am Ecuadorian and I live in Quito.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish as my native language and English at a B2 level.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at 6 years old. My first coach, who taught me to love this sport, was Juan Ordoñez. I followed a development process starting with red ball, then orange, green, and now I play with yellow ball.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My father loves tennis and plays it recreationally.
In which club do you train?
I train in the competition group of the ATP Tennis School (Asociación de Tenis de Pichincha).
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Hugo Minda, Marcelo Quema, Jimmy Achilie, and Daniel Cabezas. My fitness coach is Jilson Estrella.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train 5 times per week, and during tournaments up to 6 times per week.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my baseline game, both forehand and backhand. I need to improve my mental game, and I am working on it with the help of a sports psychologist.
What is your age category and your ranking?
I play in the U12 category and I am currently ranked No. 9 in Ecuador.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I have been provincial and national champion in both U10 and U12 categories.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only competed in Ecuador.
Do you have any sponsors?
I am currently looking for sponsors. For now, my parents support me.
What is your goal for 2026?
My main goal is to continue my development process and finish the year in the national top 3.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to compete at the highest level, earn a scholarship in the USA or Europe, and build a path toward becoming a professional player.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Jannik Sinner because I identify with his style of play.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
I love sports, I play football, I enjoy swimming, and I like traveling.
