My name is Ailsa Yichen Liu. I am 13 years old, born on July 23, 2012. I am from China and currently live in Villena, Alicante, Spain, where I train at Ferrero Academy. I am a U14 junior tennis player.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Chinese and English fluently, and I am currently learning Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 5 years old. At first, it was just a hobby, but after competing in many tournaments and training hard, I became more motivated and decided to take tennis seriously.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, after I started playing tennis, my brother also began to play, but he plays for fun.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Ferrero Academy in Villena, Spain.
What is your coaching team?
My team includes tennis coaches, a fitness coach, physiotherapists, a mental coach, and a nutritionist.
What is your weekly training routine?
I practice on court and do fitness training twice every day. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, I only train in the morning and rest in the afternoon. Every Wednesday, I also do recovery exercises such as stretching, foam rolling, and yoga.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strengths are my backhand, volleys, and mentality. I like to play aggressively and take control with my backhand. I want to improve my slice to add more variety to my game.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I currently compete in the U14 category in Spain. My Spanish national ranking is No. 597, and I am ranked No. 32 in my category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My best tournament experiences so far include reaching the final of the Warriors tournament in Sevilla, winning the Alicantino event, and qualifying for the Masters tournament, where I finished in second place.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in China and Spain.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to qualify for the Masters of both the Warriors Tour and Rafa Nadal Tour U14, go as far as possible in Tennis Europe tournaments, and start preparing for the ITF Junior Tour.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to win Grand Slam titles and achieve a high ranking on the WTA Tour.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Rafael Nadal. He is my favorite player because I admire his playing style, competitive spirit, and calm attitude on court.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family, hanging out with my friends, doing puzzles, and enjoying food.
