What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Zaynah Athar. I am 14, turning 15, and I was born on September 12, 2011. I am from Dubai, UAE.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Hindi, English, and Arabic.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of seven.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, there are no tennis players in my family.
In which tennis academy do you train?
I train at Rafa Nadal Academy.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Elio and Marianna.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my serve, and I need to improve my mindset.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the Under-16 age category. I do not have an international ranking yet, but I am ranked in the Top 10 in Dubai.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest successes so far has been reaching the semifinals at the Asyoung Tour.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Zarauz, Malaga, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, and Dubai.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use a Wilson racket and Wilson strings, Asics shoes, and Nike clothes, as well as other brands. I am not sponsored yet.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to be in the ITF Top 10.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to win Wimbledon.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Aryna Sabalenka because she is a queen. I love her game style and I really relate to her.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy track, going to the gym, swimming, and playing netball.
