What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Vivian Wu. I was born on July 17, 2010, and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Chinese, and I am learning German, which I currently speak at an intermediate level.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 11 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, I have a little brother named Aaron who competes alongside me.
In which tennis academies do you train?
I trained at Charlotte Indoor Tennis Academy and now train at Olde Providence Tennis Academy.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Misha Ayelov and Danny Belsito.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength as a player is my fighting spirit and mentality to never give up. I think I could definitely improve my patience.
What is your ranking?
My highest ranking in 12U was No. 18 in North Carolina. Right now, I am not sure of my current ranking.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far include becoming a 4A Dual-Team State Champion and finishing as 8A individual doubles state runner-up.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only played tournaments in the United States.
What equipment brands do you currently use?
I currently use Babolat and Nike.
What is your next goal?
My goal is to win the 8A state doubles championship this coming month.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to play high-level college tennis.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Jannik Sinner because he competes gracefully and is an incredible athlete.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I love to read and write, and I am also a signed actress.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I want to dedicate this interview to my dad and my coaches, who have supported me throughout my whole journey.
