My name is Sylvana Jalbert. I am 15 years old and was born on July 16, 2010. I am Mexican American and live in Mount Airy, Maryland, USA.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was six years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes. Both my uncle and my grandfather on my mother’s side played tennis, although neither played professionally.
In which tennis academy do you train?
I train at OSSA Tennis Academy in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
What is your coaching team?
My coaching team consists of the coaches at OSSA Tennis Academy: Mateo Cevallos, Vince Pulupa, Austin Yannone and Spencer Liang
What is your weekly training routine?
I train six days a week, and the length of my training sessions varies depending on the day.
What is your greatest strength as a player?
My greatest strength is my endurance on the court.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the 16U division. I am currently ranked No. 1 nationally in the United States and hold an ITF Junior ranking inside the Top 300 in the world.
What have been your greatest achievements so far?
My greatest achievements have been reaching the No. 1 national ranking in the U16 division in the United States and earning an ITF Junior ranking within the Top 300 worldwide.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have competed in tournaments in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, and Mexico.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to improve my ranking enough to qualify for and compete in the Junior Grand Slams.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to play Division I college tennis and one day compete in the US Open.

I would most like to meet Rafael Nadal because his mentality and work ethic are unmatched. I would love the opportunity to learn from him.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family, singing, and drawing.
