My name is Sophia Tulina. I was born on September 7, 2011. I am Russian and I currently live in Manacor, Spain.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Russian, English, and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis for fun when I was eight years old, and I began training seriously last summer.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my little brother also plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at the Rafa Nadal Academy.
What is your coaching team?
My training team includes two tennis coaches, a fitness coach, and a physiotherapist.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train five days a week, with tennis sessions of two hours and 45 minutes each. I also have a one-hour physical training session. On weekends, I play matches or train for another hour and a half.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my offensive forehand. I would like to improve my shot variety and decision-making during matches.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I currently compete in the U14 category, and my Spanish junior national ranking is No. 585.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my proudest moments was beating a long-time rival whom I had always lost to while training at my club. Another highlight was finishing first in a tournament in France.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have competed in tournaments in Spain, France, and the Netherlands.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not yet, but I hope to represent a brand in the future that shares my values and supports my journey.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to win several Tennis Europe tournaments and reach a UTR between 5.6 and 6.2.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become World No. 1, win Grand Slam titles, and compete against the best players in the world. I would especially love to play against Aryna Sabalenka because I admire her fighting spirit and the intensity she brings to every match.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Carlos Alcaraz because I love his playing style. I admire the way he fights for every ball and how he always enjoys competing, even when he is losing. His positive attitude on court is something I admire a lot.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I like spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy trying new hobbies, such as crafts and reading.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents because they have always believed in me and encouraged me to keep going, even when things did not go as expected. They have always supported me, helped me find solutions, and reminded me never to give up on my dreams.
