My name is Shaner Gabaldon. I am 13 years old and I was born on June 18, 2013. I am Filipino and I live in Pasig City, Philippines.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Filipino and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 3 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my uncles, aunties, and grandparents on my mother’s side play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Valle Verde Country Club.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Bobby Esquivel and Ronard Joven.
What is your weekly training routine?
I go to school from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., then I train from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my forehand and serve. I need to work on my footwork, slices, and volleys.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the 14U Girls category and I am ranked No. 3 in the Philippines.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest successes so far was becoming singles and doubles champion at the ATF Brunei Category 2 tournament.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Brunei, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to win more ATF tournaments and seek more sponsorships.

My tennis dream is to become a professional tennis player and be world No. 1.

My dream is to meet Rafael Nadal because I like his mentality. I would like to ask him how he managed to have such a great mentality on court.

Outside of tennis, I like studying, reading, and watching shows or movies.
