My name is Nelly Ang Tze Huey. I am 14 years old, born on March 12, 2012, and I am Malaysian Chinese. I currently live in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English, Malay, Mandarin, and Hokkien.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 8.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes. Tennis runs in my family. My grandmother, uncles, dad, mom, brother, and younger sister all play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Penang Sports Club.
What is your coaching team?
My dad has been my coach since I first picked up tennis. I am also part of the Penang SUKMA training team.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train 3 to 4 times a week, which includes on-court tennis training as well as physical and mental workouts.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength as a player is my determination and fighting spirit. I always compete for every point and try to stay focused under pressure. The area I need to improve most is my consistency, especially during longer matches, and I am working on making fewer unforced errors.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the Under 14 category and I am currently ranked No. 5 nationally.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest achievements so far has been competing successfully in MSSM tournaments.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Thailand.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to compete in SUKMA and continue improving my level of play.

My tennis dream is to represent my country.

What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, and drawing.
