Robert Marianovski · Interview, November 2026

What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Robert Marianovski. I was born on April 14, 2012. I live in Berlin, Germany, but my parents are Russian and Ukrainian.
What languages do you speak?
I speak German, Russian, and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing when I was four years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My sister used to play tennis. She was also the reason why I started, but except for her, there is nobody in my family who plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at many different clubs, but I play for Blau-Weiss Berlin.
Who are your coaches?
My main coach is Yaroslav Sorokin, but Karsten Weigelt and Bernd Süßbier also play a big role in my tennis life.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is that I never give up, and I certainly need to improve my mental strength.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I am in the U14 category, and my ranking was No. 4, but now it has dropped to No. 7 in Germany.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes are winning a Tennis Europe tournament and winning the Northeast German Championships in singles and doubles two times in a row.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments all over Europe, for example, in Spain, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
What equipment brands do you currently use (racket, string, shoes, clothing…), and are you sponsored by any of them?
Currently, I am sponsored by Dunlop for rackets, clothing, and strings, but because Dunlop does not produce any tennis shoes, I cooperate with K-Swiss for that.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to establish myself on the ITF Tour and adapt my game to the men’s tour.
What is your tennis dream?
I want to win many Grand Slams, become the best player in the world, and beat Carlos Alcaraz.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite players are Carlos Alcaraz and Roger Federer (when he was playing).
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
I love spending time with my family and going running with my dog.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents because they give 200% for me every day!
Robert, thank you for the interview 🎾
Tennis Papers wishes you all the best in your tennis journey and future tournaments 💜
