What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Michele Piazzolla. I was born on March 16, 2012. I am Italian and I live in Barletta, Puglia, Italy.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Italian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was four years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my father played tennis competitively, and he is now a padel coach.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Circolo Tennis Barletta “Hugo Simmen”.
Who are your coaches?
My tennis coaches are Francesco Faggella, Federico Mirgone, Flavio Piazzolla, and Giovanni Napolitano. They take care of my tennis training, while Nicola Criscuoli is responsible for my athletic training.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my forehand, and I am currently working on improving my physical fitness.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under 14 category. My current national ranking is 2.8, and my Tennis Europe ranking is No. 145.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
In 2024, I became Italian doubles champion with my partner Ruggero Condorelli. In 2025, I was Italian doubles runner-up. This year, I reached two Tennis Europe semifinals, in Pavia and Pescara.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
This year, I have played tournaments in Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, and Italy.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I currently use a Dunlop FX 500 racket with Dunlop Explosive Spin strings and K-Swiss shoes. I am sponsored by Dunlop for both my tennis equipment and clothing.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to have a great tournament in both singles and doubles at the Italian Championships, which will take place in Arezzo from September 1 to September 7.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become one of the Top 100 tennis players in the world.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite tennis player is Carlos Alcaraz because I really like his creative, aggressive, and explosive style of play.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my friends and listening to music.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my family, who allow me to pursue this dream through many sacrifices.
