My name is Marlin Abdalla. I am 16 years old and was born on December 12, 2009. I am from Egypt and currently live in Saudi Arabia.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Arabic fluently, and I also know a little German and French.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at around the age of 11.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the only competitive tennis player in my family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I currently do not train in a club. Instead, I train independently.
What is your coaching team?
My coaching team includes my family, especially my father and mother, who are always with me and support me in every possible way through every training session and tournament. I also work with my private coach.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train two hours of tennis every day, in addition to fitness work.
What is your greatest strength as a player?
My greatest strengths are my strong mindset, serve, and backhand.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U18 category in international tournaments. In Saudi Arabia, there is no U18 girls category, so I compete in the women’s category, where I am ranked inside the Top 8 nationally.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes include winning many ITF and ATF matches, achieving a UTR rating, and winning several national tournaments. I have also participated in many international tournaments-2 WTA Finals, 2 Six Kings Slams, Davis Cup playoffs, Riyadh season tennis cup, and diriyah tennis cup I also participated in the โ€œFuture Stars programโ€ which was organized by the WTA and Saudi tennis federation where I learned many things about the WTA tour. I was the youngest woman player in my team as champions of the Ladies first Premium league in Saudi Arabia. 2 times champion of the WTA awarness friendly tournaments.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Bahrain.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to win many more tournaments, especially ITF events, strengthen all my skills, improve my UTR, and most importantly enjoy the whole process.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional WTA tennis player and win many tournaments and Grand Slam titles.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Roger Federer because I admire his style of play, mindset, and elegance.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and going out with friends.

I would love to dedicate this interview to my parents because they are always with me through every little and big step and always support my passion for this beautiful sport.
