My name is Margarita Ter-Grigoryan. I am 13 years old, born in 2012. I am Armenian and I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Armenian, Russian, and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 4.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my middle brother Viktor also plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Lakewood Indoor Tennis Club in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
What is your coaching team?
My team includes my head coach and a physical trainer.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train three to four times a week, with sessions lasting between two and four hours.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I am passionate about what I do. I would like to improve my consistency and continue developing all areas of my game.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the U14 and U16 categories. I am currently ranked No. 75 in Canada in the U14 category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My achievements include being a Fisher National Championships alumna, a Canada Summer Games 2025 alumna, a Saskatchewan Summer Games 2024 Women’s Silver Medalist, and the Lakewood Indoor Tennis Club Women’s Singles 4.0 Champion in 2025 and 2026. I have also won multiple junior tournaments and reached several singles and doubles finals in Armenia and Canada.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have competed in Armenia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, and Canada.
Do you have any sponsors?
Yes, I am supported by Speech Therapy Saskatoon.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to become a better athlete and person every day. In tennis, I want to compete in more high-level tournaments, earn opportunities to play ITF events, continue improving my skills, and enjoy the journey while learning from every match.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and be the first player of Armenian origin to win Roland Garros.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Novak Djokovic because he is a true inspiration and an athlete with an outstanding mental game.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy mathematics, drawing, and reading books.

I would like to dedicate this interview to all young athletes and encourage them to keep going and keep fighting for their dreams and goals.
