What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Jorge Rodrigo Esteves Urízar. I was born on March 23, 2011. I am Guatemalan and live in Guatemala City.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was four years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my sister and my father also play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at the Federación Nacional de Tenis de Campo de Guatemala.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches at the federation are Lester Díaz and Diego Beltranena. My father, Jorge Estevez, also coaches me.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my forehand and my ability to hit winners. I need to improve my backhand.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U16 category and I am currently ranked No. 5 nationally.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest achievement this year was being selected as one of three players to represent Guatemala in the U16 Junior Davis Cup.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Bolivia, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use a Head Boom racket, Babolat RPM Rough strings, Babolat tennis shoes, and Head clothing. I am not currently sponsored by any brand, but I would welcome the opportunity to work with one.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to qualify for the Junior Davis Cup again next year.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and be recognized for my achievements. I also dream of studying at a university in the United States while continuing to play tennis.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Carlos Alcaraz because he gives his all every time he plays and fights for every match.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my school friends, going to the movies, and going out to eat with them.
