🎙️ Jake Crockatt | Interview, July 2026

Introduce yourself: Name, Age, Date of Birth, Nationality, City of Residence
My name is Jake Crockatt. I am from Sussex, England, and I was born on March 16, 2010. I live in Hove, Brighton.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at around eight years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my mum was a high-level regional tennis player who won her county open in Oxfordshire, and that is something I aim to do in the future too.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Pavilion & Avenue Tennis Club, a high-level, fun, and welcoming tennis club with players such as Alicia Dudney and Sonay Kartal playing there.
What is your coaching team?
My coach is Martin Reeves, who coached the GAB team, including junior Jack Draper.
What is your weekly training routine?
I play tennis around four times a week, with gym and recovery sessions on my rest days.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my defence and speed around the court. I need to improve my attacking volleys, which will help me boost my doubles game.
What is your age category and ranking?
My age category is U18. Because of GCSE and English exams, as well as regional training blocks, I have only played two tournaments this year, but winning both of them is helping me get back to my previous ranking of Top 100 in U16.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far include playing for the men’s first team at my club at the age of 15, representing my county in matches, winning older high-level tournaments, and beating higher-ranked players in the Top 20.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have trained at the Juan Carlos Ferrero Academy in Spain, where I worked to improve my physicality and tennis.
Do you have any sponsors?
I do not currently have sponsors, but my goal for the rest of 2026 is to improve my ranking and become sponsored by Yonex.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for the rest of 2026 is to improve my ranking and work toward being sponsored by Yonex.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to play men’s national tournaments at a young age and one day play at Wimbledon, near my home city.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favourite player is Alex de Minaur because of his hunger, fighting spirit, and incredible defence. Martín Landaluce is also close behind because of his passion and power. It would be amazing to meet either of them because I look up to them and base parts of my tennis game around their style.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, fashion, and running.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
This answer was not specified.
