My name is Eliza Mangule. I am 14 years old and I was born on October 6, 2011. I am from Latvia and I currently live in Ādaži.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Latvian, English, a bit of Russian, and a bit of Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of five.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, there are no other tennis players in my family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I practice at Gulbis Academy, located in Riga.
What is your coaching team?
I am coached by Ernests Gulbis and Jānis Mellups.
What is your weekly training routine?
I practice tennis twice a day and fitness once a day for five days a week. Usually on Saturday, I have one tennis session and one fitness session.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I feel like my greatest strength as a player is my serve. My weakness would be my backhand, but I am working on it.
What is your age category and ranking?
Right now, I am playing in the U16 category and I am ranked No. 10 in Latvia.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far have been winning a Ten-Pro tournament title and finishing runner-up several times in Tennis Europe doubles events.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in many countries, including Greece, Spain, Estonia, Türkiye, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, and the UAE.
Do you have any sponsors?
For now, I do not have any sponsors, but I hope to have some in the future.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to win a Tennis Europe title and an ITF title.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become the first woman from Latvia to win a gold medal at the Olympics and to win all four Grand Slams.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Andrey Rublev and Iga Swiatek, as they are the players I look up to the most.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy playing my guitar, writing, drawing, reading, and watching movies.
