My name is Giovana Macedo Bezerra, better known as Gigi. I am Brazilian, 11 years old, and I was born on November 2, 2014, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. I have been living in Recife, Pernambuco, since I was 4 years old.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Portuguese and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 8 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my parents, brother, uncles, and grandfather all play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Lagoa Azul Tênis Clube.
What is your coaching team?
I am part of the Rolando Bordas Team.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train from Monday to Friday, combining on-court sessions, physical preparation, and preventive physiotherapy.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I believe my greatest strength is my desire to win. Like every player, I always have things to improve, and my serve is one of them.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U12 category and I am currently ranked No. 7 nationally in Brazil.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My biggest achievements include reaching the finals of all national summer tournaments I played in January 2026, being a semifinalist at the National Circuit in Belo Horizonte and the Brasil Juniors Cup, winning singles and doubles titles at the national tournament in Volta Redonda, and being among the best players in Brazil in my category.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only competed in Brazil.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not yet, but I would really love to have sponsors in the future.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to continue evolving as an athlete, become even more competitive, and remain among the top players in Brazil in my category.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and compete in Grand Slams.
Which players would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz because they are my idols. I admire Sabalenka’s authenticity and Alcaraz’s style of play.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
