My name is Gaston Guevara. I am 15 years old and I was born on June 4, 2011. I am from Guayaquil, Ecuador.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I have been playing tennis since I was eight years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My dad has played tennis as a hobby for 14 years.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at AsociaciΓ³n del Guayas.
What is your coaching team?
I train with three coaches, and we are 18 students.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train tennis from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by physical training from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my backhand, and something I can improve is my mentality, because sometimes I lose focus during matches.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U16 category. My current ranking is No. 27, and my best ranking was No. 19. I have recently recovered from an injury.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I have won two G3 titles in singles and doubles, reached a G2 semifinal and a G1 quarterfinal, and finished runner-up in doubles at a G1 tournament.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have not played outside my country. The plan is to travel next year to play ITF and COSAT tournaments.
Do you have any sponsors?
I do not have any sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to recover fully and enter the Top 16.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to study abroad with a Division 1 sports scholarship.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Carlos Alcaraz because he seems like a very charismatic player, very complete in every aspect, and a very good person both on and off the court.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I sometimes enjoy playing padel.
