My name is Filip Katic. I was born in 2014. I am from Canada and I live in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Serbian.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was six years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my younger sister also plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Rosedale Tennis Club in Hamilton, Ontario.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Nino Rajic and Joel Cruz.
What is your weekly training routine?
My weekly training routine is a private lesson with my coach every week and then five days of group class.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my backhand. I need to improve my volleys and maintain my composure in difficult situations.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I am in my second year of U12, and my national ranking is No. 22 in Canada.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest success so far has been qualifying for the U12 Canadian Nationals, both indoor and outdoor, this year.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have only played tournaments in Canada so far. I would love to play in Serbia, where my family is originally from.
Do you have any sponsors?
No, I do not have any sponsors yet.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for the rest of the year is to do well at the outdoor nationals in a couple of weeks, then enter the U14 age category in January 2027 and be strong from the start.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become a professional player and be able to compete worldwide.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Taylor Fritz. I like his work ethic, how he conducts himself on court, and his amazing serve.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy playing soccer and golf.

I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents. Without their support, none of this would be possible for me.
