My name is Jana Youssef. I am 17 years old and I was born on May 5, 2009. I am Egyptian and I live in Giza, Egypt.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Arabic.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was four years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes. My older sister used to play tennis competitively. She still enjoys playing, but she decided to focus on her studies and is now pursuing a career in medicine.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Wadi Degla Club.
What is your coaching team?
My tennis coach is Waleed El-saraf, my fitness coach is Seif Mostafa, and my mental coach is Dr. Omar Fayez.
What is your weekly training routine?

What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my serve. The area I am currently working hardest to improve is my return game.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under-18 category, and my current national ranking is No. 6.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
So far, I have reached three ITF singles finals: two J30 finals and one J60 final. I have also won two ITF J30 doubles titles, and I hope to achieve many more milestones in the future.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have competed mostly in Egypt. Internationally, I have played in Kenya, where I competed in an African Under-14 tournament.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not yet. I am currently looking for sponsorship opportunities and hope to partner with a brand that believes in my journey.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to break into the Top 500 of the ITF Junior Rankings and secure a sponsorship.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to compete at Roland Garros and play against the best players in the world.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Jasmine Paolini because I feel that her style of play is very similar to mine. Her determination and fighting spirit inspire me to keep improving every day.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy cooking.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my mother because she has always supported me and helped me pursue my dream. I am truly grateful for everything she has done for me, and I hope to make her proud by achieving my goals.
