What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Ethan Lowndes Berrocal. I was born on December 1, 2012. I am from Málaga, Spain.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of three.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
I am the only tennis player in my family.
In which tennis academy do you train?
I was at Jofre Porta Academy last week. Currently, I am trying new academies and seeing which one is best for me, so I do not have a club right now.
Who is your coach?
I currently do not have a coach because I am trying to find the right academy.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My strength as a player is my overall game and tactics. What I need to improve is my attitude, because sometimes I get frustrated when it is a close match.
What is your age category and ranking?
My category is U14. My ranking in Spain is No. 24 for my age, and my Tennis Europe ranking is No. 215.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest achievement was winning the Tennis Europe Category 3 singles title in Bulgaria.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Finland, Bulgaria, Spain, and Portugal.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use Babolat for my racket, Tecnifibre for my strings, and Yonex shoes. For clothes, I wear different brands in general, and I am not sponsored by any of them.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to reach the Tennis Europe Top 100.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become the best player of all time.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player was Rafael Nadal because of his attitude and spirit to keep fighting on court, and because he is from my country.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I like spending time with my family and playing chess.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents, who have sacrificed a lot for me to be able to play tennis, have opportunities to go to these tournaments, and come with me despite having to work.
