What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Alejandro Pozo Moreno. I was born on July 21, 2011. I am Spanish and I live in Mérida, Extremadura, Spain.
What languages ​​do you speak?
I speak Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was six years old. Since then, tennis has become a very important part of my life, and I really enjoy learning and improving every day.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my younger sister also plays competitive tennis, so tennis is a very important part of our family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I mainly train at CD Sportocio in Badajoz and also in Mérida. I have also trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy and Equelite Ferrero Tennis Academy.
Who are your coaches?
I train at Sportocio with my coaches, and I also train individually in Mérida with Álvaro Tarifa, my personal coach.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strength is my fighting spirit. I never give up and I really enjoy competing. My forehand is also one of my main weapons, especially because I can hit with a lot of spin and accelerate when I have the opportunity. I am working on maintaining my intensity and consistency throughout the whole match.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I am 15 years old and compete in the Cadet and Junior categories. As a first-year Cadet, I am currently around No. 200 in Spain in my age category. In the absolute national ranking, I have around 550 points and am approximately in the Top 950 in Spain.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My best results include winning the 2025 Extremadura Máster (Copa Máster) in the U14 category, finishing runner-up in the U16 category at the 2026 Extremadura Máster, and reaching the semifinals of the As Young Tour.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Spain and Portugal, and I would like to gain more international experience in the future.
What equipment brands do you currently use (racket, string, shoes, clothing…), and are you sponsored by any of them?
I currently play with a Yonex EZONE 100. I have used Solinco Hyper-G and I am now starting to use Kirschbaum strings, which they provide me with. At the moment, I do not have a formal racket sponsorship.
What is your next goal?
My mains goals are to win a national tournament and eventually reach de Top 1000 in the world.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to see how far I can take tennis and reach the highest level possible. I would love to compete internationally and, one day, become a professional player.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Rafael Nadal because of his humility and fighting spirit. He never gives up and has always been a great example both on and off the court.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside tennis, I enjoy playing other sports and spending time with my family.
