What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Yuta Morita. I was born on May 11, 2009. I am Japanese and I live in Singapore.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Japanese and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I played tennis from age 13 to 15, and I restarted nine months ago.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, there are no other tennis players in my family.
In which tennis academies do you train?
I train with the Singapore Tennis Association in Singapore and at Duta Tennis Academy in Malaysia.
Who are your coaches?
My coach is Tian Chin Poh, along with other coaches.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my forehand spin and my never-give-up mentality. I always try to fight until the last point, no matter the score. I am working on becoming more consistent and improving my attacking game.
What is your age category and ranking?
My category is U18. I still do not have ranking points, but I was selected for the Singapore Tennis Association Elite Team.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest success so far is being selected among the top players of the Singapore Tennis Association team and for the U19 Elite Team in Malaysia.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use a Head tennis racket and Asics tennis shoes. I do not have a sponsor yet.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to be called up for U18 Singapore national training.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become a champion in UTR competition and compete in ITF Junior tournaments.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Rafael Nadal because he is passionate every time he plays. My playing style is similar to his, especially with a high-spin ball.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy listening to music.
