My name is Thijs Van Der Ploeg. I am 12 years old, born on May 5, 2014. I live in Groningen, in the Netherlands.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Dutch and a little English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 5 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my mom and dad both play tennis.
In which tennis club or academy do you train?
I train with Tennisteam Het Noorden and at the Dutch National Center.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train from Monday to Friday, around 16 hours per week.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My weapon is my forehand. I need to improve the speed of my backhand.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the U12 category and I am currently ranked No. 4.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest success so far is reaching the final of a Category 1 tournament in France.
