My name is Sofia Soncini. I am 14 years old. I was born on May 22, 2011. I am Italian and I am from Parma.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Italian, English, and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 6.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No one in my family played at a high level, but when I started playing, both my mom and dad began playing too.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Circolo del Castellazzo.
What is your coaching team?
My main coaches are Alessandro Tombolini and Giuseppe Montenet, and my fitness coach is Dario Cavallo.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train every day from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. I do one and a half hours of tennis and one and a half hours of gym. On weekends, I either play tournaments or spend time with my friends.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My strength is my forehand. I need to improve my backhand, but especially the mental side of my game.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under 16 category (first year), and my national ranking is No. 196.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My biggest achievement so far has been qualifying for the Super Next Gen among the top 25 in Italy. Another important experience was competing as a starter in Serie C.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played in Italy, Malta, and Austria.
Do you have any sponsors?
No, I do not have any sponsors yet.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to reach a 2.8 ranking and qualify in a good position for the Italian Championships.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to reach the Top 10 in the world.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Roger Federer because I think he is the greatest player in history.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy playing the piano, listening to music, and spending time with my friends.

I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents, because it is thanks to their sacrifices that I am able to practice this sport at a competitive level.
