My name is Samuel Avila. I was born on September 17, 2011. I am Venezuelan and currently live in Chile.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 4 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes. Tennis is part of my father’s side of the family, including my father, grandfather, and uncles.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Stade Français Chile.
What is your coaching team?
My team includes former professional tennis player Guillermo Hormazábal as my coach, along with the physical trainers from Cerys Sport.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for one hour each day. On weekends, I usually play matches.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my passion and desire to play tennis. I would like to improve my mental strength.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I am in my first year of the U16 category. My national ranking is No. 34 in singles and No. 18 in doubles.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My best results so far have been reaching the quarterfinals and semifinals of national tournaments and COSAT events.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Venezuela and throughout Chile.

No, I do not currently have any sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to improve my mental strength and physical condition so I can start standing out in my second year in the U16 category.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to make a living from tennis.

I would like to meet Rafael Nadal because of his incredible mental strength and fighting spirit, qualities that I admire and want to develop in my own game.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my friends and relaxing.
