What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Romi Elkayam. I was born on January 31, 2012. I am Israeli, and I live in Mazkeret Batya.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Hebrew and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was five years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My father knows how to play tennis.
In which tennis center do you train?
I train at the Ramla Tennis Center in Ramla.
Who is your coach?
My coach is Simon Bachaev.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strength is my attacking game and my forehand, which I can use to hit many winners. I need to improve my second serve a little.
What is your age category and ranking?
I play in the U14 category. My ranking in Israel is No. 17, and my current Tennis Europe ranking is around No. 700.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my biggest achievements is winning many tournaments in Israel. In addition, I reached a world ranking of around No. 400 in the U14 category.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Israel and a few tournaments in Cyprus.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I use Babolat equipment and Nike clothes and shoes. I currently do not have a sponsor.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to keep improving, win tournaments in Israel and abroad, and move up in the rankings.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become one of the best tennis players in the world, reach the very top, and win Roland-Garros.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite player is Aryna Sabalenka because I like that she never gives up, fights for every point, and keeps fighting even when things are difficult.
