My name is Penelope Peterson. I am 11 years old and was born in 2015. I am from the United States.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English, but I would love to learn French in the future.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 4 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
I am the first person in my family to play tennis, but my younger brother has recently started taking lessons.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train with the Genesis High Performance Team in Kansas City.
What is your coaching team?
My coach is Idris Smith, who runs the high-performance tennis program at my club.
What is your weekly training routine?
During the summer, I train with Idris every day. We also have clinics, fitness training, and match play sessions from Monday to Thursday.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My strength is being an all-court player. I like to use my athleticism to my advantage. I am currently working on becoming a stronger player at the net.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the USTA U12 category and I am currently ranked No. 271 nationally.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Some of my greatest achievements include finishing third at the 2025 Lil’ Mo International in Colorado and winning three USTA Level 3 singles matches.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only competed in the United States, but I hope to play international tournaments soon.

What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become the No. 1 player in the world.

What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my friends, especially my tennis friend, Elle.
