My name is Muhammad Hassan Usmani. I was born on December 17, 2010. I am Pakistani and I live in Wah Cantt, Pakistan.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Urdu.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of eight. From the very beginning, I fell in love with this sport, and it has been my passion ever since.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the first tennis player in my family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at ACE Tennis Academy, Pakistan Tennis Federation, in Islamabad.
What is your coaching team?
My tennis coach is Mahboob Khan, who has more than 45 years of coaching experience and has played a significant role in my development as a player. My fitness trainer is Muhammad Shahid, an experienced fitness coach who has also trained Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
What is your weekly training routine?

What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strengths are my fighting spirit, consistency, and mental resilience. I never give up, no matter what the score is. I am continuously working to improve my serve, physical strength, and overall game so I can compete at an even higher level.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under-16 and ITF Junior Under-18 categories. I was ranked Pakistan No. 1 in the Under-14 category in November 2024. I am currently ranked Pakistan No. 6 in the Under-18 category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my proudest achievements was representing Pakistan in the Junior Davis Cup in Kazakhstan in 2026. I also reached the finals of two consecutive ITF J30 tournaments in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, as a back-to-back doubles finalist. I have won three ATF titles: the Ashgabat Open 2024 singles title in Turkmenistan and the ATF Jeddah singles and doubles titles in Saudi Arabia, where I received my trophies from Rafael Nadal. Another milestone was becoming Pakistan No. 1 in the Under-14 category in 2024.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have competed internationally in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I look forward to playing in many more countries in the future.
Do you have any sponsors?
At the moment, I do not have a sponsor. I am grateful to my family for supporting my tennis journey, and I hope to attract sponsors as I continue to improve and achieve better results internationally.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to continue improving my ITF Junior ranking and consistently perform well in international tournaments while proudly representing Pakistan.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to play all four Grand Slam tournaments, compete on the ATP Tour, and one day become the first Pakistani to achieve the highest level of success in modern professional tennis.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Rafael Nadal because of his incredible fighting spirit, discipline, determination, and ability to perform under pressure. I also greatly admire Roger Federer for his exceptional talent, elegant style of play, grace, and sportsmanship both on and off the court.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching professional tennis matches, following other sports like football, playing chess online, and focusing on my Cambridge O-level studies whenever I am not traveling for tournaments.

I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents, my coaches, Mr. Aisam ul Haq, the president of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, and everyone who has supported me throughout my tennis journey. I also dedicate it to young Pakistani players who dream of representing our country on the international stage.
