My name is Mia Orovchanec. I am 9 years old and I was born on October 18, 2016. I am from Macedonia and I live in Prilep.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Macedonian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was three years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my younger sister Ana, who is six years old, also trains regularly, just like me.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Tennis Club Break Point in Prilep.
What is your coaching team?
Both of my parents, Goce and Aleksandra Orovchanec, are my tennis and fitness coaches.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my fighting spirit and movement, and my biggest weapon is my forehand. I want to improve my backhand and work more on my mental strength.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I currently compete in the U12 category. In Macedonia, the national ranking starts from the U14 category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I won the Macedonian Open Championships in both U10 and U11 at the age of eight. At the age of nine, I reached the semifinals of the Macedonian U12 National Open Championship in Ohrid and finished third. I also reached the quarterfinals in U11 at my first international tournament, the TEN-PRO Hungary Bowl.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have played tournaments in Macedonia and Hungary.
Do you have any sponsors?
I currently use Tecnifibre rackets and strings, and ASICS shoes. I am not sponsored by any brand at the moment.
What is your goal for 2026?
My next goal is to prepare as well as possible for the TEN-PRO Global Junior Tour Greece Bowl in September. I also want to be fully ready to compete in the U14 category at the Macedonian National Championships next year.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and win all four Grand Slam tournaments.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Novak Djokovic because of his fighting spirit, mentality, and the way he never gives up. From the younger generation, Alexandra Eala is also a great role model for me.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy playing football and swimming. I also like spending time with my family and friends.
