My name is Maitena Mariani. I was born on February 23, 2014, in Argentina, and I live in Wilde, Buenos Aires Province.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish and I also understand English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started training when I was 5 years old and began playing tournaments when I was 8.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My father plays tennis, but only as a hobby.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Club NΓ‘utico de Quilmes.
What is your coaching team?
My training team is led by Gonzalo Presson and Nadia Denazis.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train twice a week for three hours and also take two weekly one-hour lessons. On weekends, I play tournaments and interclub competitions.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My best shot is my backhand, which is my greatest strength. I need to improve how I manage my anger and self-demand on court.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U12 category and I am currently ranked No. 30 nationally in Argentina.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My achievements include playing two U10 national team events and finishing third, and then winning the U11 national team event. I have also won several initiation tournaments and open events.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only played tournaments in Argentina, in different cities and provinces.
Do you have any sponsors?
No, I do not currently have any sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 was to reach national tournaments, and I am already playing them.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream today is to play for a university and become a professional tennis player.

I would like to meet Casper Ruud because he is my favorite player, and I play with his racket.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy urban dance, spending time with friends, and traveling.
